Workday Acquires Cape Clear
Workday has bought Cape Clear. So from today I'm a Workday employee. This is very exciting, not least because Workday are an amazing organization, but for me the real win here is being able to focus our software on making integrations simpler to write, run and manage. Workday are a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) ERP player (HR, Financials, ..). They figured early-on that integration was a key requirement when selling SaaS solutions. People love SaaS, but how do they connect it to their own systems? Workday's acquisition of Cape Clear is a signal of just how critical that requirement is.

Sounds like a good technology fit.
Are the terms favourable, bottom lines etc ?
As the press release says, the terms are private, so unfortunately I cannot really comment on them.
The technology fit is excellent and the culture of the companies are very similar. The developers here are also pretty happy about being able to tighten the focus of the product - less emphasis on being the swiss-army knife of web-services.
The bottom line is often the only realistic gain to the company that's being aquired in these sort of deals. But I sincerly hope it works out for the Dublin based Plc. Cape Clear have(had) a good product
