iPhone - Linux got there first
Gizmodo has nice picture of a linux phone which looks freakishly like the iPhone. Crazy.
The iPhone will sell by the bucketload. Why? Because it's a fashion phone. This is the really weird thing that most blogs have missed.
How many people use the features of their phones - I mean phones here and not just smartphones. Camera - lots of people have low usage of it. Calendar, task manager - I've heard of them. People will want it cos it's slick.
Will it change the way people think of phones. Nope, but there are some really nice touches (mouse gestures for zooming, orientation detection, turning off the light when it's close to your head). But the spec (for Europe anyway) is a wee bit light. Now a phone that I could use as a wii controller that would be cool.

Wow it DOES look like teh iphone
It looks nothing like the iPhone, actually. The UI has subtle hints of similarity, but now way is Open Moko's phone near the polish. The hardware is even further from similarity.
You may be right when you say the iPhone is a fashion phone; it's damn sexy. FIC is iPhone's ugly sister at best. If FIC had some sex appeal, I would consider getting one; heck it's a fraction of the cost and 100% open, that's amazing!
I can't say anything about FIC's software since I've not used it, but iPhone's is pretty slick the way everything ties together (address book talks to phone, safari, maps and all vice versa). That said, it has a bunch of warts ; I myself have 15 bugs/feature requests open with Apple.
I'm looking out for FIC v2.0 and keeping my fingers crossed; please, PLEASE get an industrial designer!
